Broken/I'm a Liar too
Was it not meant to be?
Am I wrong once again?
I gave you my all heart.
Now I just sit here-broken.
You never threw a single stone,
Yet you hit my wings all the same.
You slowly destroyed my heart,
With your cliché little love game.
Tired of guessing and tears,
I just want to hear your voice.
A soft low pitch of anguish,
Your heartfelt rhyme of choice.
Tattered on the ground lie dreams,
Like photographs they fade.
Like Kindling, catching fire,
Small flames that leap and sway.
A silence that settles over you,
Like fog on a Lagoon,
Gives evidence of your hesitance,
To love beams of the moon.
Starlight is fleeting,
It disappears during day.
If love is just like starlight,
Then please choose another way.
Silence is not always golden.
It can be brown, just like your eyes.
It is delicate and worn and molten,
Like your smiles and your lies.
I could craft novels about all your wrongs,
And how much I hate you,
But then I’d just be hiding,
For I’m a liar too.
