red rose
a rose so red its the color of blood,
the love is strong.
a rose so open and free nothing can tear it down,
except two hearts.
this rose was given to a boy,
from a girl that really liked him.
he took it home,
and left it.
he secretly liked the girl,
but never told.
the rose started to die,
as the girl lost hope.
one week later the rose is dead,
almost completely dry.
the next day, all over the news,
a girl killed herself with a rose and note in hand.
instantly the boy knew,
he made the worst mistake of his life.
on the day of the funeral,
the boy grabbed rope, the dried rose, and a note.
yet again,
all over the news was a death.
as we know,
they left notes.
the girls note said:
"i gave a rose symbolizing my heart. you let me die. i loved you...why didn't you understand?"
the boy said:
"i never told you but i loved you too. i was stuck up and mean. i let my first love die, so i must join. my guilt is killing me. please forgive me."
there will always be,
a rose so red its the color of blood.
don't judge people by their looks,
judge by their hearts.
