Consumed
All that I once was.
innocence,
shamelessness,
contentment,
demolished.
Abducted by you
whom I once adored.
Stupid, naïve on my part.
Taken for granted,
used for selfish advantage,
abused mercilessly.
Lies scattered throughout,
staining the surface of
my skin like the tears
that cohere to it.
Arrested by your
ruthless grip,
impossible to fight
my way out.
I surrender.
It wasn’t meant for you,
And neither was I.
Revenge will grab a hold
of you, you know, pinching
your skin, rendering apart
your flesh, coiling itself
around your throat,
Tighter
Tighter
Like a snake choking its
hopeless prey before it is
consumed.
