Each day he writes her a letter.
Each letter containing little chunks of his heart.
Each letter arriving on time.
Each letter lay ed in a metal box waiting.
Each letter falling in the trash unopened, unread.
Each day his strength getting weaker and weaker.
Each day his love slowly kills him.
Each day finding ways to subside the pain, but never stopping it for good.
Each promise is empty and falls to pieces.
In the end, he held out his hand.
No one came to help.
