Steps Towards Black
Every step you take
Away from me,
Puts more cracks
In my heart.
Some had already been there,
Already made themselves at home.
Insecurity.
Jealousy.
Depression.
Every step you take,
Makes me sink
Deeper.
I’m too deep
To save.
You can try
All you want.
It’s too late.
You had your chance.
As I sink deeper,
Deeper
Into my own
Deathtrap,
I think…
Why aren’t I
Getting up?
I should have
Recovered by now.
The answer came to me
Moments later.
I loved you.
Truly.
Deeply.
Loved you.
Not as some
Summer fling
Or eye candy.
As true love.
As love at first sight.
As I sink
Deeper,
All my senses
Start to dull.
Sounds disappear…
Tastes cease
To exist…
Smells are gone…
Slowly,
My sight fades…
Black.
