You and I
I wish we’d still be together,
But your kisses didn’t last forever,
We each fall as a different feather,
Burning to the ground in this cold weather.
They wanted my blood and heart,
And so they dragged it into the dark,
You and I stand a kingdom apart,
With only the moonlight to find your arms.
The crows devoured my felicity,
And their gold eyes kept me in tranquility,
A number fell upon my unity,
You’re still in my heart; but no longer with me.
I was stopped by time,
I thought you’d be my valentine,
But the world continued to turn,
Pulling away what is mine.
