Twins Love and Lust
Love and Lust are fraternal
They are twins all the same
With sinfully similar motives
And slightly different names
Love lives in the sky among clouds
Lust dwells in a shimmering star
Love brings two souls together
Lust tends to shine from afar
The favorite game they like to play
Goes by the name of “Doubt”
It’s dangerously powerful
Not something thrown about
If you find yourself the victim
Of play by Love and Lust
I warn you to evacuate
They don’t deserve your trust
They’re known to creep and snicker
Into marriages and dates
And make the pair of heart and mind
Question all that is at stake
When Love and Lust are asked “who won?”
By friend or even foe
Their response may shock you for they’ll say
“That’s for you to wonder and us to know”
