Only Me
As I walk, I vow to not turn back
To stand on my own two feet.
The way I did before
When there was only me.
Sught is held at face value
They don't see me
Only the face i put on today
Not the inner sea.
The things that hide behind my eyes
A child with no mom.
Abused and beat again
Running away inside of me.
Her father who hurt her so
And the one who watched her leave.
Can't smile anymore
Feeling like I let her down.
They can't see this
When I hide my tears.
Pretend that nothing's wrong
So I don't blame them.
So as I walk I vow not to turn back
To stand on my own two feet.
The way I did before
When there was only me.
