The Water
I stand upon the edge of a valley, with deep waters idling below.
Within its depths, I have been before and must never again go.
I care not of this heat, or the mercilessness of the sun.
I shall not go into the water, and on this I won’t be undone.
Within those wretched waters sits a deathtrap in disguise.
What seems like a lake of water is so much more to the wise.
For a hot and miserable soul leaps into its depths will soon find,
That the depths suck you in, its waters cover your body and consume your mind.
Now I am here today because a savior found me,
Joshua was his name, and he pulled me from the waters wither than leave me be.
He said no words, for his actions spoke far louder than his voice.
It told me to leave the waters, tell the others, and rejoice.
And so I stand here, saved from the depths by a man named Joshua.
