The Shores of Tripoli
From the streets in Tunisia
To the barricades in Tahrir Square
The bleeding deserts of Libya
From Bahrain
To Yemen
To Oman
Freedom cries eternal.
They train in Benghazi
To die in Ras Lanuf
And Surt
And Zawiya
The oil docks of Brega
And soon in Tripoli.
Common people fighting
Desperate to be free
They fight for freedom
For the right to live
Fight for home and family.
42 years have the struggled
Now they finally push back
They fight men on a paycheck to kill
Fight against Lord Tyranny.
Tremors of Tunisia
Inspiration from Tahrir
Here it comes together.
The rebels stand their ground
The cowards turn and run.
Scores of Marines wait in the sea
Unneeded, for now, to go to Tripoli.
The people can do it
They’re a tough bunch.
Not yet, but soon, the people will win.
They’ll be free, but still to die
They’ll live in freedom
(That eternal lie).
