&quot;The mark of the immature man is that he wants to die nobly for a cause, while the mark of the mature man is that he wants to live humbly for one.&quot; <br /> &quot;Happiness can be found even in the darkest of times, if only one remembers to turn on the light.&quot;

The figures of Raphael
Are elegant and delicate
Flowing across the beautiful landscape
Their features glow warmly
Beautifying all around them
Like flowers in a heavenly garden,
They take their place in the lovely art
Of the centuries.

But you do not recall to me
The figures of Raphael.

To me,
you are painted by Michelangelo
Strong, intense,
And powerful
The mark made is cut deep
Into the soul of those who come near
Light shines out
Blinding all who can see
The intensity and power
Hidden in thee.

I love art history. If you look at Michelangelo and Raphael's art, you'll see what I mean by this poem.

Writers are a less dangerous version of the career criminal. Everywhere they go, they see the potential for the perfect crime. The difference is that writers have better self control.

I like the fact that you used "thee" in the poem. It's a reminder of the time that those men lived in. It pulls it together with a historical zing.

I love this! The way you use so many different adjectives to describe the art is unique - most people just come back to the same two, like beautiful and special or some other combination.
