Withheld Words
Quietness
breaths stolen away through my selfish slumber
words slipped, the bird was shot
bearing it's tidings through the chilling distance
why was I important to tell?
rebuke is as dark as the reaper who claimed you
but they could have honored me by word
So I could apologize and bow my head in sorrow
over the empty core who made his own glorious exit
his family blames me but what are exchanged words but empty
my heart is what counts
holding your final words is no revenge
but spiteful and wicked that his death words were not given to my heart
as reprieve for being a selfish girl and as for relief from my constant nightmares
please bear his words to me and mark the end of this incessant unrest and sleeplessness
