Without A Fight
Three inches from your face
This time I won't rest my case
I begin my prepared speech,
but my prologue is all I reach
Your eyes are beaming in mine
What again was on my mind?
When I say no more
You head for your bedroom door
Using all your might
to walk away without a fight.
What happens next
is a day later I wake to a text.
My heart melted to the ground,
for a surprise apology is what I found;
This is not like you and so out of the blue,
Especially since I was the one yelling at you.
