The Sound of Henry's Cry

It’s the sound of car crashing
The glass breaking
The airbag exploding
It’s the sound of his body breaking
Bones cracking
A life ending
It’s the noisy ambulances, the horns honking
It’s the laugh he made before it happened
Happiness, not a care in the world
Just a little boy ready to explore his life
It is the sound of Henry’s cry
The worst sound in the world
But how much I would give to hear him again
To hear my son whimper one more time
I should have paid more attention
This was my fault
And now my son is gone forever
