I needed you all my life
Well that's what I made myself think
Today I can tell you that i have forgotten you
Somebody has replaced you
He is a better listener
A better person to be around
I thought I needed a guy
But today I can smile and tell you that what I really needed was a dog

The thing that inspired me was my ex-boyfriend. I had been with him for two years ; we got in a huge fight and ended up breaking up. I wrote this because no girl needs a guy to live what she does need is a friend to help you in your ups and downs.

I just broke up with my first serious boyfriend after being together for almost a year and a half, so I'm learning this lesson quickly haha.

Short, simple, and to the point, I really like this! It reminds me of the song "the more guys I meet" by Carrie Underwood.
