A Centered Hope
Do i really need a centered hope? a wish upon a star?
must we really dig up the past behind the hidden scar?
Do we have to bring up my rotting past?
a once forgotten heart the didn't seem to last?
must i remember the past i try to forget?
why must you force upon me all of my regret?
Bring up the pain that burned hurt through my eyes
but everyone kept quiet, no one heard my cries
the hell only worsened, they didn't even know
each laugh they shared sparked thoughts of long ago
of a time before this, when i used to be true
and now ive dug up secrets i wish i never knew
the past reflects, time moves on, the future brushes by
and all i can hear are the heart breaking lies
over again, the voices telling me to leave
and every step i take the more i believe
im not the same person as i was before
the old me, the new me, the separation tore
so why do i need a centered hope? we know the deed was done
and i must walk up alone, i am the only one
