I Miss the Day.
I miss the day
When you were still alive
When we breathed together
Like one
I miss the day
When we ran through the woods
Swam in the water
Talked among the flowers
About life and death and faeries
I miss the day
When I knew who you were
When I trusted you
When I respected you
When I saw you as less than God
But more than a man
I miss the day
When you weren’t stressed
About providing for everyone
Supporting us all
At once.
I miss the day
When I didn’t understand
But believed
When God was above all
When I was innocent
When I knew what was wrong and right
And didn’t care what you had to say
And I was content with life
As it was
I miss the day
i miss the laughter
The music
The love
And trust in life
When I was not yet soiled
And spoiled
And wrong
I miss you
Youth.
