Dust, Sweep, and Clean
Dust, dust, dust
Dust away the trash
The bad,
The broken,
The torturous,
And the sad
Dust away the tiny pieces
That prick and prod at your feet
Dust away the memories
That make you hide and retreat
Dust away the sorrows
That make your day unworthy
Dust away the anger
That makes you go crazy
Sweep, sweep, sweep
Sweep it off of the floor
Don’t hide it anymore,
Sweep it out from under the door
Pick up the rubbish
That’s been piling around for years
Clean your life
Of all past fears
Watch the dirt scatter about
With a flick of your wrist
See how those tiny demons
Writhe and twist
Wash, wash, wash
Clean your humble abode,
Your life, your heart, your mind,
Get rid of the load
Clean the closets,
And wash your dirty clothes,
Pack away the boxes,
Sleep a heavy, fresh dose
Sit back and enjoy the beauty,
Smell the cleared air,
Revel in the comfort
Now, isn’t it much easier to bear?
