An old friend will help you move. A good friend will help you move a dead body. - Jim Hayes

Late one lonely night,
A tired traveler walks on the roads of Lore,
Yearning to know what his future held in store for him.

The trees waved frighteningly,
And the wind howled with all its might.
An animal hooted nearby, causing him a fright.
“What great devil is here,” he thought.
“To make such a noise as that?”

“Tis an owl you great fool,” whispered something in his ear.
So the traveler walked on till his feet was black and blue,
And the night had turned into day.

Oh, what a lonely, lonely, traveler,
With a never ending, twisting companion,
Who allows him to walk upon him,
Wishing him a safe journey through.

Then, when all seemed in vain,
Another human was seen,
Resting underneath a yew tree.

“A sage!” exclaimed the traveler.
He humbly strode towards him,
And asked the question that had
Been tearing him apart.

“What is my destiny?” he whispered.
At that the wise, old sage opened his eyes,
And fondly smiled upon him.

“Dear child! You have yet to learn many things,
Prolong your present you should not,
And cast away your youth.
Your future is what you make it be,
You shall be the driver, and seek things no man has ever dared to seek before .”

At those wise words, the traveler bowed his head in respect.
He turned his back on the path ahead of him,
And slowly walked all the way back home.
