Defrost
The starless night wraps it’s endless cloak around my
bare shoulders
It tears through my shallow hopes like raging lightning
through a thunder cloud
I am cold
I am alone
So alone
All alone
I find shelter in his arms, arms that hold me so tight
I’m afraid I’ll die
When he leaves when all I’ll have for company is the
Endless cloak of night
I’ll be cold
I’ll be alone
So alone
All alone
He’s here again by my side and I’m starting to think
He’s here to stay
Here to hold me in those arms of his and chase the
Cloak of night away
I’m lukewarm
He’s here
He’s right here
He’s still here
I’m accustomed to his presence now, drawn to his
Radiant light
The light that’s so bright that not even the bluest
Night can cut through to get to me
I’m thawing out
He’s here
He’s right here
He’s still here
He promises that he’s not going anywhere as long as
I want him here with me
With my temperature rising and the night held at bay
I’ve decided I want him to stay
I’m room temperature
He’s here
He’s still here
He’ll be here
