Goodbye.
They’re drowning inside their thoughts and their tears
Two little girls try to keep in their fears
The love that they lost on that special day
Will always be with them to their dismay
As they realize that everyone is up for the take
They think about the promises that all seem to break
Their childhood dreams are ripped at the seams
And they can no longer believe
That no one will ever leave
Now they’re left with the shock and the pain
Their hearts will scar and nothing will ever be the same
As they peer into each other’s sad eyes
They know it’s time to say goodbye
They raise their hands to their young soft lips
And make the motion of blowing a kiss
The tears start draining from their eyes
The words they whisper, “Goodbye, grandpa, goodbye.”
