My Last Christmas
Old memories come flooding back
Little reminders of the past
This time two years ago
Wasn't very pleasant
Because Christmas in the hospital
Never is
I see her there in the bed
In pain, suffering
The sadness pulled us together
Closer than ever
We made the best of
That dreadful place
From dawn till dusk
We made it fun
Who knew it be our last cheerful time all together
Not me
I prepared her last meal
Before she left
Two weeks went by fast
She missed a few memorable moments
But that's ok
This year and last year we broke tradition
It's add normal and doesn't feel the same
I remember that night
She blew me a kiss goodbye
The darkened hall
The rain outside
Her ice cold skin
My last glance of her
I spent every day with her in the hospital
That winter break
I never knew how much her leaving would affect me
But one thing’s for sure I’ll never forget that last Christmas
