And It Burns
And it burns
Everything they said
The mistakes I made
A thousand apologies
They won’t be enough
To set anyone free
I wish I could change
Be a better person
But sorry, I’m deranged
I have my share of friends
But at times of despair
I wonder where they all went
(if its all pretend)
You swear you cared
But you never tried
To look behind my smile
I’m okay
Still strong and mean
But aren’t things never what they seem?
I’m sorry now
With tears dropping down
But it’s far too late
It’s just too late
To change anything now.
