The cold gives comfort
Like no other
The moon lights the path
So the lies are hidden from open eyes
The stars layer each travel
With an awe-inspiring blanket
Keeping one safe from harm
The wind keeps life awake
To the coming dawn
The grass complete with dew
Forms a shelter from hate
Soft and depleted as snow
The trees shadowed in the distance
Perform a show
Distracting one from the drama
The mountains reveal
A natural beauty
Only found at night
Where the deepest emotions
Are laid to waste
