Magic Door

if I had a magic door
with a magic key
that I could whisper where
I wanted it to open to
and it would listen
I would take you by the hand
with a secret smile
and show you all my dreams
but
in the end
I think we would just go back
to that night
with sand between my toes
and the moon in my hair
and I would lock the door
and pause the clock
and blow the stardust in your eyes
where they would shine like drops of fire
and I would hold your hand
and throw the key
into the sea
lapping at our feet
forever
