I hovered there
at the chicken-coop door,
determined to see
how a chicken layed an egg.
I don't know
how long I stood there;
it could have been minutes,
or hours,
but when the chicken nestled
down in he nest,
I was there
at the chicken-coop door,
out of sight
but I could see clearly when
the chicken stood up,
shook the straw out of her

feathers.
I then rushed in,
making the chickens scatter.
I reached into the nest,
and in my hand
I held
an egg.

this piece is about when i was 6 and watched a chicken lay an egg. It was a very inspiring experience and I still think about it today.
