Sucker For Love
When I tried to prove you wrong you only wronged me,
Called me a fool, a sucker for love.
Through the tears and the tears you kept me intact when I never even needed anyone else,
Because you were my crying shoulder,
My life source,
My reason for waking up and dealing with the world and all its terrors.
I played every song on my piano as a tribute to our story,
To our hearts strung out for everyone to see,
That I was only a fool you said,
Only a fool.
They wouldn’t let me love,
Wouldn’t let me touch such perfection in fear of losing myself within.
As much as I want to feel the reality of your kiss so bare,
I’m only a peasant to your selfish nightmare,
So I try as much as I can to sink deeper into sin,
Even if it means I have no way of knowing what ends,
And what begins.
Only a simple touch to turn my heart to stone,
A somber poison spreads across skin and bone,
Leaving my body weak awaiting your touch
