"Life is either an adventure...or nothing" -Helen Keller

maybe
I was just a queer little child
but when I was sitting
in the car
with mommy driving fast
I loved to watch
the rain fall down
and hit upon the glass
and now as I am
thinking
I ponder a queer metaphor
of how life relates
to that maroon suburban door
sometimes the weather
hits me hard
and tears fall down my cheeks
sometimes the world it gets so cold
that I began to creak
other days in haste
I bang against another
leaving scratches and dents
and getting lectures from my mother
there is times when its cold outside
and yet inside I feel warm and so happy with my life
So tell me now
am I the only queer child out there
who loves to listen
to the rain going
pitter patter
and as the water
hits on the window
with a splash
nothing in the world
even seems to matter

You will find as you look back upon your life that the moments when you have truly lived are the moments when you have done things in the spirit of love. <br /> Henry Drummond

No, you are not the only queer child out there. I love to watch the rain patter on the window too. :)

I like this poem!

(couldn&#039;t think of anything better at the time) &quot;Take the first step in faith. You don&#039;t have to see the whole staircase, just take the first step.&quot;-Dr.Martin Luther King Jr.

i really liked this. rhymed poems are hard to pull off, but your rhymes didn't sound forced, and even with a smaller selection of words (since you can only use words that rhyme) you still managed to make your meaning deep and touching.
