Shoelace

I used to be a shoelace
that mommy or daddy tied up real nice
so little kids don't trip or fall
perfect bows that stay put and out of the way
But now I am a shoelace
that is frayed and evil
I trip the one's that don't know how to tie
their own shoes
I get so knotted and tight that I can't be undone
I make even the most graceful fall
on their knees beyond help to get back up
and keep moving on down their path home
