The constant race we call our lives,
We’re always striving for change, but never improving,
Moving forward but never ahead,
People can compete, but no one wins.

As we strive for change, but never improve,
We become better as a country, but not as individuals.
Because of course, people can compete, but no one can win.
And as we push ourselves further and harder,

We become better as a country, but not as individuals.
Our life flashes past, and does not wait,
And as we push ourselves further and harder,
No one seems to focus on what is right in front of them.

Our life flashes past, and does not wait,
Nothing waits, nothing pauses,
And no one seems to focus on what is right in front of them.
Nothing seems to ever get any better than it was before,

Because nothing waits, nothing pauses.
We’re moving forward but never ahead,
And nothing seems to ever get any better than it was before in
The constant race we call our lives.
