Best Friends

We are best friends; milk and cookies,
Nothing goes better.
But we are artificial,
Made out of lies and molded with insecurity
You bring me anxiety when I need to be reassured
I want to confide in you, but I know you wouldn’t oblige.
I need to be comforted by you.
There’s times when I need to share things with you, and get them off my mind.
But I feel like I can’t tell you,
And I feel like you don’t tell me,
But we say it over and over
You and me, we are best friends.
