Lost Hope
Trash and grime,
Bills and crime,
Searching for lost hope,
For everyone is trying to cope.
In a town that’s receding,
We are not feeding, not succeeding,
Falling further as we try to climb up,
Where is the black, deep bottom,
if not where we are?
Ignoring the need,
That’s so clear on their faces,
Let us plant the seed,
In hopes they will be in better places.
If you pay attention,
To the voices trying to mention,
What they need,
The buried hope,
So lost in our own greed.
