Footprints
Footprints,
First of the season,
The water
Washes them away
The sun makes them sparkle,
As you look down,
And you wonder where you will walk next.
Small grains between you toes,
The earth is sinking beneath you.
You have waited all year.
Summer has come.
Time to go outside a play.
And when it is all over,
I will wait again until next year.
As the water washes them away,
You look down at,
The first footprints of the season.
