The Masquerade Dream
I look at you as you walk by
You give me an engaging smile
I think about you all the time
I don’t think you ever think of me
Or about me at all
But it doesn’t matter
It makes me smile just knowing
I crossed your mind for just that moment
Even for just a second.
I smile at you even though you can’t see it
I’m at a ball…
A masquerade ball
I’m dressed as Cinderella
I see a prince charming in the middle of the room
He smiles up at me,
I smile at him as I walk down the steps toward him.
Then we start to dance
Later that night,
He asks who I am
And I ask who he is.
He removes his mask, and I see…it is you.
I smile and I take off my mask
When you see it is me you give me a charming smile.
Then I awake to someone saying my name.
It is you; I give you a gentle smile,
And you give me a kind-hearted smile back.
