The Beauty of My Life
Sometimes,
The beauty of my life surprises me.
I’ll be running on the Strand,
And I’ll turn to look at the ocean,
And I almost fall over.
Sometimes,
The beauty of my life surprises me.
I’ll be walking down the hall,
And I’ll look up to see you waiting for me,
And I feel my heart swell up.
Sometimes,
The beauty of my life surprises me.
I’ll be driving home,
Harassed, tired, hungry,
And I’ll look out the window to see the sunset,
And suddenly, I’m not as tired and harassed anymore.
Sometimes,
The beauty of my life surprises me.
I’ll be a mess; totally wrecked,
And you’ll give me a hug,
And then, I’m a million times better.
Sometimes,
The beauty of my life surprises me.
Sometimes, the realization that this is me,
Will hit me hard.
The realization that this is my life,
Will hit me harder.
And then,
The beauty of my life surprises me.
