Halfway to Heaven
My aching heart is bleeding all over my clothes,
Staining them the color of broken love,
That never really existed at all.
Now the clocks ticking,
On your time, to mend this shredded hope,
That still lives inside me.
I just need the touch of your skin on mine,
And your warm breath in my ear,
To remember what it felt like to be almost yours.
I’m tired of hugging myself,
Of embracing a future without you,
It’s not my decision to make.
We don’t need each other,
But I want you and I need to know,
If you want me.
So let me make this clear,
If you love me like I love you,
Meet me halfway to heaven.
