The Dancer
You know that feeling where you're breathing in and time stops? You look around and realize that at that moment, you've reached perfect happiness.
Not even Webster can find a word to do that feeling justice. But I can say is that I'm feeling it right now.
My leg lifts and my hips swivel, my body on auto pilot. Every calculated movement rushes into its perfect place. Every muscle knows its job. Every cell is lifting and swaying to the music. The tight pink leotard feels like a second skin and I am home.
The crowd fades into the background. Every face is just another brick in the wall. I hear the sound of my beating heart, but I am not nervous. I keep time to it and win the hearts of the crowd once again. But this is not for them.
The tight pink leotard feels like a second skin and I am home.
