my naive pilgrimage
on the map stretched over every curve, pore and follicle
I can quite honestly say I'm native to the area
the twist of each smirk
held my naive pilgrimage
concrete collarbones were subject to
masticated landmarks
blemishing on your topographic outline.
through ear canals
I've swam naked to every reception
waiting to be clothed by whispered phrases
both palms sheltered jetlagged eyes
from bright lights
and showed their fondness of my bare feet.
at knee's peak, I found
trails leading down and around
hinting at yet to be discovered territories.
Here I stand, a well-worn traveler
heading towards the open arms my flesh and bone home
and even at this distance,
I have found that there is nowhere I haven't been.
