To the bird that sings alone…
In the grim threadwork of woods,
perched a songbird remains
without consolation,
the tiny bird sings
Can you hear it, oh pompous one?
Far away the children’s laughter rings
but the merriment, oh too far…
Woe, to the bird that sings alone
But cry not little one, I say
For by your side, forevermore I’ll stay
