the thrum of the drum
beating out slowly
rhythmically
erasing all my troubles
all my problems
all my thoughts
lost in the bliss of the noise
the bliss of music
the bliss of talent
heart picking up speed
beads of sweat on my hairline
head rocking up and down to the beat
tapping my feet
this is where the dark and the light will meet
arms aching
smile rising
happiness in the pain
happiness in a good show
a good job
a good life.
