Do We Ever? MAG
We waste our lives away
worrying,
analyzing,
planning ahead
for tasks that require
one simple step.
We are the ruin of joy,
Throwing it away on
cars,
clothing,
cash,
who has more?
Do we ever really smile?
We are a waste of sorrow,
ignoring,
denying,
and pushing it away,
when all it wants is
to protect us.
Do we ever really allow ourselves to feel?
We are the downfall of knowledge,
always opting out of understanding,
but memorizing,
cramming,
testing,
just to say that we are intelligent enough.
But
do we ever really know?
We throw our lives away
acting,
protecting,
eliminating
any chance,
any notion
to be truly alive,
because it is the only thing that we are sure
how to do.
But through all this,
we waste one another.
One minute we love,
and the next we hate.
Will we ever take the chance
to make it right?
