Rancid
Figments that calumniate
Only wish for a shorter fence to leap
An assailed jester finds a thinner wall
To waltz, yet with tears
The scarlet dilutes the color of jealousy
When her secret wriggles for
A fancier set of ears
And a new gasp of breath
Answering the fulguration of shadows
Who cover their mouths
With paper and steel
But cannot leave the surface of the pond
They’d urge you to accept the Mascara clouds
Where the chandler’s wick
Burns to no end
And whispers far-fetched tales
But in these days
It’s impossible to hide yourself
So accept what your heart tells you:
Don’t be so eager to see
Yourself alone
