My Best Friend
You’re my best friend,
We spend so much time together,
It’s almost like we’re twins.
Although there’s a slight age difference,
We always find ways to connect to each other.
You offer me advice,
And I offer you advice.
Helping each other through our tough times
And the times that seem I can never get through
You’re always there with some advice or a joke to pull me right out.
Sharing almost everything,
From clothes to tears,
Problems to music,
And stories to rooms.
While we go through other friends,
And other places we call home,
there’s always a connection to each other
to stay in touch
and stay best friends.
While you go off to college,
And I go off to high school,
The distance may be great,
And the problems may be worse,
But
Every sad song has an ending,
And I’ll be happily holding the new track,
One to a happier beat
about a better life.
Here’s one simple truth I’ve learned:
I’ll always have a friend in you,
And you’ll always have a friend in me.
