The Fire in my Heart
I could have sworn love
is what i felt for you
the truest love
the deepest love
the kind that makes dreams come true
but now
when your mouth opens
hatred, coldness, cruelty pours out
allt he things you say
are the kindling
and your cold dismissal, the matches
that set my heart aflame
tonight it burned and burned
it sorched me inside
as i satred at the sky
wishing i could turn back time
they say
tis better to have loved and lost
then never to have love at all
but what of love that turns to hate
now your words burn me
and tonight the blae was so bright
i saw it in my eyes
and it burned away
the strings that held me to you
my heart to yours
I'm free
sitting on the ashes
of a once great love
i'm free
and alone
so alone
so i piece my heart back together
and tape it into my chest
i'm going to fly far
far away from this place
from the sorchedness of my heart
a place where you cannot follow
but i can spare a smile
because you freed me from you
by setting fire to my heart
