The Moon
Shining bright
Through the dark, dark night
Is that never ending circular light
In the sky
It illuminates the black
And is mystical to the naked eye
Yes, it’s the moon
It orbits in space
And is in flight at the opposite of noon
Look, it’s getting bigger
Or so it seems
See those little gashes?
They go by the name of crater
Craters have been on the moon for a while
And will continue to be until much, much later
So bask in the moon’s delicate grace
As the man in the moon stares down at you
With his crater eyes from space
Look, the moon’s sliding down the horizon
And with it, the sun is peeking above the ground
But the sun will set when the day ends
The time will come once again
For the dark sky and the moon
To once again be friends.
