On the Rocks
The water hits the rocks
Like a body of rushing water
The small kids peer over the edge
I see a mother pull back her daughter
It’s dangerous here
If you’re not careful
The sea water is the highest today
Than it’s been all year
Careful, it’s slippery
On these immense, pointy stones
Parents, hold onto your children
The dark water under me
Is filled with the unknown
So don’t get too close to the side
Listen to me
Your tour guide
And you’ll be okay
This is just a typical day
On the rocks
In Maui, Hawaii
