"Why, sometimes I've believed as many as six impossible things before breakfast."

Bebe reaches for the
carnations in her mother's flowerbed
Enthralled with the
petals, blushing daintily.
its untainted aroma.
She deracinates
its earthly attached
roots. The dirt
sumptuously spritzed
her rosy callow cheeks.

Her mama gazes outside
the windows of her kitchenette
and caught her daughter
uprooting the artwork
she's coddled for months,
her flowerbed.

Her thinly iced eyes
tapered into almond halves
her head shook in vexation
her face pallidly morose.
the tight kinks of
her sunless locks were
mundanely secured
at the base of her skull.

She stomped to her backyard
perched on the patio
her koi fish lips pouted
in discontentment
her index finger poised upright
prepared for chastisement

Before her mouth spewed
The what have you done's
The look what you did's

Bebe Marie orchestrated lilac chortles
flinging the polished petals
like rainbow confetti
Her baby blues dizzied
as her peripherals glued
to the gliding confetti
crashing down
like the finality of cymbals.

Her mama drooped her index finger
De-clenched her rumpled cheekbones
Her pillowed lips curled upright
Exposing chips of snow-white teacups
She unraveled her grapevine curls
It pulsated at the gliding of her flamingo legs
Joined her jovial Bebe Marie
Harmonized with feathery guffaws
