Silent Hope
What is it that makes us human?
Is it the things we feel or
The pain that we endure?
Can it be the people we love,
Our hearts,
Or the time we spend looking at the sky above?
What makes us who we are?
What makes us do the things we do
Or say the things we say?
Can it be faith or peace or the will to fight?
NO!
It goes deeper than that.
Beyond society, beyond tradition.
Hope is what keeps us all alive.
It's our blood and bones.
Beyond layers of skin,
It rests in our hearts,
Silently pushing our hearts to beat.
Hope is what keeps our days going.
It is the one element of life,
That is always around.
So what is it that makes us human?
It's our wall of silent hope,
That can never be brought down.
