Sometimes
Sometimes,
I’d just like to throw back my head, open my mouth
And bawl out all the tears
I’ve been holding back from eternity
Pouring and gushing out the sadness in my soul
Sometimes,
I’d just like to let out a tiny wail
Whenever I’m frustrated
And vexed by the hard problems
In school, in war, and in humans
Sometimes,
I’d just like to crawl underneath the cozy welcoming covers,
Curl up my feet
And snuggle next to Mother,
Feeling her soft hands stroking my hair
Sometimes,
I’d like to pause life,
Rewind it back to when everything was pure, carefree, and white
And all you had to worry about
Was bees and scrapes on your knees.
How’d life get so complicated?
Was it always just like that?
Sometimes,
I’d like to know the answers to those questions,
And maybe just change it all up.
But when I think back to them,
I realize that it’s all past the point of no return
No going back or ever returning
It’s just that sometimes,
You just can’t help
But think back to that
Sometime.
