Melodies of Hell
Melodies of Hell
The wanton wailings of the night–
Braying demons in the wind–
Within me summon such a fright,
That to darkness thanks is owed
For such abhorrences behind the shrieking
From mine eyes concealing–
Those lowly, loathsome creatures lurking in the night–
A luring lethal threat–
Without a home–
Without a name–
Bellowing tumultuously–tremulous and out of tune–
Hide me–save me–O darkness!
From the moaning and the groaning–
From the wailing and the tailing–
From those canny, cryptic creatures
That caper in the night!
